This course builds upon prior PHASE coursework in health systems science, population health, service-learning, research methods, epidemiology, and biostatistics. As OMS II students, learners will continue developing their Service-Learning Experience projects in clinic or community-based settings while refining their study design, data collection plans, ethical considerations, and approach to data analysis.
Through this course, students will apply principles of professionalism, teamwork, leadership, ethical data collection, and evidence-informed decision-making to population health, quality improvement, and service-learning projects. Students will also strengthen their ability to use epidemiologic and biostatistical concepts to design studies, select appropriate statistical approaches, and answer clinical or population health questions.
