Non-Curricular Research

ClassEligibility for Participation
OMS-1 and II
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 2.5.
  • Not currently on Academic Warning or Academic Probation as outlined in the Academic Standing Policy.
  • Eligibility begins after November 1 of the OMS-I year.
OMS-III and IV
  • No minimum grade point average. 
  • Successful completion of the COMLEX Level 1 (OMS-III) or COMLEX Level 2 (OMS-IV).
  • Successful completion of subsequent rotations and COMAT examination in the semester applied. 

Note: Returning Students from Academic Suspension: Students interested in research will be required to maintain good academic progress (completion of all courses, not appearing to full SPC committee) and are eligible to be off Academic Probation by the end of their returning year. They must also have and maintain a 2.5 OMS I and OMS II cumulative GPA.

OMS III
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.0.
  • Not currently on Academic Warning or Academic Probation as outlined in the Academic Standing Policy.
  • Review of transcript shows no “F” grades at CHSU.
OMS IV
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.0.
  • Not currently on Academic Warning or Academic Probation as outlined in the Academic Standing Policy.
  • Review of transcript shows no “F” grades at CHSU.
