Medicine is not a field that follows 9 – 5 schedules. Patients require care 24 hours a day and on weekends and holidays. The following considerations apply to CHSU-COM students while on clinical rotations:
- Hours will vary depending on the specialty and the location
- Varying start and end times
- Weekends and holidays may be scheduled “on duty”
- With the exception of mandatory COM programming, students are expected to follow the schedule set by their preceptor.
